Honesty doesn't stop you from achieving success, and it usually helps.

But that's not enough. You've got to work hard, and smart.

For instance, being honest about eating too many donuts never made anyone lose weight.

You've got to know what you have to do, and then do it.

will an honest man achieve success? My answer is; one trait does not neccesarily lead to the other. be honest for the sake of being honest not as a pre-requisite to success. People succeed in life from different reasons( depending on your definition of success). If your definition of success includes being wealthy, then it is possible for one to be dishonest and successful, and also for one to be honest and successful- as long as that honest mind also happens to be practically intelligent and so can plan things well.

Dear Friend,
It's absolutely right that honesty pays but there r other factors also which contribute to the success &sometimes lead to a failure .it's a kinda chemical Rx-----
honesty+meekness+low self respect+low confidence --failure(no doubts' bout it)
honesty+confidence+self respect(positive thinking)---success!!
Remember, honey is sweet but it's combination with diabetes can be bitter otherwise.

Honestly I am not trying to be rude but i do not give a sh** abot anyone who is not useful to me....
Here is an example.....Me....
I got a job at a golf course in 2003, regular crappy mowing grass job, long hours and $8.00 an hour.
O.K. this job is seasonal so I got layed of from November to Mid April.......
2003 started 2004 got a call to come back to the course as Foreman.
Number One Promotion.......Foreman
Worked for another year as foreman...got layed off again.. Through the year I go a Pesticide Spray Licence.......Golf Course stuff.....
2005 got asked back as Pesticide Spray Tech......Cool Another Promotion.. All 2005 $9.00/ hr. still seasonal.......
2006 I got asked back as Golf Course Assistant Superintendent.......SALARY and 3X what I was making and it was all year long......Nice right but to top it off I am going to Rutgers University All paid for by the companies I work for.....I have no student loans nothing and I am still getting my regular pay checks even not being at my job.....
So in conclusion, I worked my way through this company and am #2 boss and next year I plan to be Superintendent with double the salary I have now. I was only in it for myself. I put the company in situations where they couldn't say no. I used all of my co workers to my advantage, but I did it without losing respect. In all honesty I am not going to carry all of my co-workers to the top with me I am going to use them to help myself to the top without them even knowing it.......I am working to support me and my family not to be a nice guy and let everyone take an opportunity that i can accomplish, probably 10X better and faster....
So do it for you and your family or only you. You will go nowhere being the honest guy. You have to be the used car salesman that will tell you anything to get you to buy a crappy used car. Get yours, F**k everyone else.
Spell Check is Broke.............

Dude. You should learn by now that its dog eat dog world out there. It is good to be honest but something you just have to make a stand and fight the system rather than follow it blindly.

Firstly I suggest, make your definition of success. What is success for YOU!, not for your neighbour or classmate.
A success for me is individual concept. So as long as you want something, and wish to succeed in it in your own way, Keep going without comparing yourself with others.
people are different , and a subjective demarkation of success (Like getting high grades), is often a bad start to compare yourself with. Best way: learn from the people who think they failed. coming to academics: if bill gates would have had marks and degree in mind mcrosoft would not have happened, for him success was something else, which he achieved finally.
So, first decide what you want!

Most honest people can earn enough to survive. A few dishonest men earn a lot of money but most of the dishonest earn very little, at least in my experience. I feel with honest people, you should be honest, but with dishonest people, you should be careful.

Yes, honest people can do well in business. Of course, those who take shortcuts will appear to do better, faster, but they always have that dread for when they will be caught. What's more decisive, in my estimation, is your business skills. The more you learn and apply, the better you do.
