This question is not intended to insult anyone's intelligence..indeed it is meant to elicit your intelligence, that is with respect to the second and third qestions. Before you get started, It would be far less confrontational if we would limit ourselves to answers rather than equivocating. Community Standards do not allow us to answer a question by asking one.

Yep, and that works out to less than 10% profit for the investors. So I don't think you'll see any new refineries being built for another 20 years. You can make a lot higher profit margin selling hot dogs from the street corner.

Its a publicly traded company so the profits go to the stock holders. If you had 72 dollars worth of stock you'd make just a little under $7.00 for the year. The same money invested in a good mutual fund might have had double the return.

Profit margin determines how resources will be allocated. Which the oil companies making less than 10% I don't see much room for them to improve their operations or to invest in alternative fuels.

The total magnitude of the dollars is impressive until you put it into the perspective of the total magnitude of the investment necessary to produce it. When you do that for oil companies their profit is less than impressive.

This is caused by pin head journalist who don't have clue about the information they are broadcasting.

Exxon paid 2.5 times more in taxes last year than they mad in profits, so they are one of the biggest contributors to this war effort. It's laughable when you say you want intelligent responses, just like when liberals say there were no WMD in Iraq even though we have found enough to kill over a million people. Google:Iraq chemical weapons factory and see for yourself.
And what about all that talk about the economy being bad. If that were true how did Exxon make so much money and pay so much taxes? Get real, if you have the cranial ability...

Bush would never ask a fellow blood-oil reaper to pay for something! It's the opposite: the US Government is paying for the war while Exxon benefits.

Rather than complain about how much a company makes why don't you buy their stock, that makes you part owner of that company and you also will get the profits.

Maybe???? We should force the profit sharing (BUSH & CHENEY) company to release the record profits and return them back to the American tax payer for their war.

You forgot to add that from their $377 billion in revenue, they paid about $100 billion in taxes.

Why did you omit that important fact?

Please explain why you hate business that hire thousands of people and generate profits. Maybe you would be happier in Chavez land down south. No one is forcing you to drive or use oil based products.
