i love american idol but my dad hates it. i was just wondering what other people think about. my dad especially thinks the auditions are stupid becaues they rarely show any good people but hte auditions are my favorite part. tell me what you think.

I'm addicted to American Idol. I'm not proud of it, but it's kind of like looking at a car accident. You shouldn't want to look, but you HAVE to. I like listening to the people sing, unless they truly suck and think they are awesome! In a way it's funny, but it's mostly just sad. I don't like how so many ok people are becoming so dang famous from the show, though. None of them are necessarily better than anyone who had to do it the "real" way. My favorite so far has been Chris D. and he didn't even make it to the top 3! Someday I'll stop watching, but not yet. :)

I used to like the audition part too but I find they're just going out of their way to humiliate people now. I stopped watching it even though it used to be my favorite show. It's just stupid now. More like a soap opera with the judges than a singing contest.

It is entertaining to watch, but I am starting to feel sorry for the judges having to sit through so many bad people. The contestants go through a prescreening process, and I know it's for entertainment, but I just wonder how many ok, or pretty good singers get turned away to show off the "entertainers".

I love the show now...I used to hate it up to last season. I watched the whole last season and loved it...the audition part is the best part of the show in my opionion, its just funny to watch what ppl will do just be on t.v. for a few seconds....I can't wait to see what kind of talent comes from this season.....

I like Idol, but I think the judges are too mean. Though some of the contestants do need to get a life....

I hate how people always put down Simon....
so you think the ones he passes on should actually go forward in the competition??
He just tells it like it is and maybe he is a little harsh sometimes but when he does compliment someone on their singing, you know he means it....

The auditions are freakin AWESOME!!! THe crappy part is the actual competition....everyone thinks those silly little commercials and group dances suck!! Laughing at the people who seriously think they can sing is the best part!!!

I hate that Show!! i hate that Dude Simon and that Black Dude too both of them are Idiots how can they judge other people none of them do not have any kind of Talent!! the only one I like is Paula abdul.

I find it to be both stupid and annoying. Also has the tendency to make the people on it and the people watching it look a little less than intelligent. Sorry.

it's a good idea for a show. the concept was pretty brilliant....5 or 6 years ago.
it's way overdone now. I hate that show.
