I just noticed a couple days ago that if you write straight down a piece of notebook paper, the corners start to curl up. Has anyone else observed this? Does anyone know why that happens?

Because the pressure you apply to one surface; same thing happen when you hammer a piece of metal, it start to curve towards the surface being hammered.

Are you writing with ink? Any liquid will affect an absorbant surface like paper. We dampen printing paper thoroughly with water before pressing so it will take ink better.

i think it's because of the heat of your hand, and the fact that you're writing mostly in the middle/center of the paper, so there's pressure on that part of the page.

thats so weird, but i noticed that only reason im guessing is because you are putting pressure on the opposite side.
