Men equate masculinity and power. Apparently the larger you are the more manly you are supposed to be as well. Any women could tell them differently however this is part of the myth and folklore that make some men the quaint, simple, creatures that they are. All you have to do is ooooh and ahhhhh over the size of them and they become putty in your hand.....no pun intended.

Why do women lie about their age?
Everybody wants to be as attractive as possible to the opposite sex. Some people tell lies in order to appear more attractive -- pretty silly, really, 'cause eventually they'll be found out...but they do it anyway. Both sexes do it. The desire for sex is a powerful motivator...:)

Probably for the same reason that women wear padded bras. :)
I keep threatening to carry a tape measure around so that the next time a guy says that he's 9 inches we can call him on it right there and then!
