There are several ways that tourism could be harmful:

1. Environmental damage - tourism means more people with more cars, more gasoline usage, more trash, and more environmentally harmful pollution

2. Damage to historically relevant places - tourists tend to damage natural and artistic wonders....example: the graffiti in the area o the pyramids in egypt....the destruction of the cemetary where jim morrison is buried in france, etc

3. Destruction of village life - Many villages espcially in Europe do not want tourists because they bring hustle and bustle and destroy everyday quiet life
