We are taking our first family vacation to Lakeland Florida (just south of Orlando) the 2nd week in June. The kids are 2, 4, and 6. Our 2 yr. old is special needs and can not walk. Looking for any suggestions for things to do! Clearwater beach and Disney world of course are already in the agenda. Cheap is great!! Thanks :)

If I were you I would take my children to Sea World. It's a lot of fun. There are all kinds of marine animals to see. There's a water play land and take the ultimate adventure by taking your kids to the Shamu show! You can get a stroller for your child that cannot walk. Have fun! Sea World is in Orlando.

If you have AAA, use them to get good tickets prices from themeparks to dinner shows. There is Midway and Oldtown in Orlando...they are like a thrill area...little rides like a fair. It is free to get into there. A huge golf cart ride (3 stories) at Midway for around $4-6. There is also and arcade there, sling rocket, ferris wheel, ect. Daytime fun? Um....not too sure.

hello i live in lakeland and have now for 2 years thanks to all the attractions. special needs is not a disadvantage in fla. you are considered a priority at theme parks here. if you want cheap then maybe consider gatorland in kissimmee, sea world in orlando, busch gardens in tampa, and one other hint ill tell you is look into buying package deals for the parks it is a whole lot cheaper this way. There are also alot of small fairs and carnivals all over kissimmee, a really neat place ya'll kids would like is OLD TOWN. its for the family and kids, ya'll enjoy your visit and come back now ya hear.

If you're not interested in going to disney, then go to one of the disney water parks. They are fun, and filled with rides and pools and large wave pools for any age. Also, universal studios is very enjoyable.
