No. It is too time consuming. If a format where the match can be completed within 2 hours is devised, it may be included. Also all the matches must be played on pitches with uniform characteristics. And cricket must be played seriously at the international level by at least 50 countries which have a good record in sports. Viewers across the world must love cricket too.

Since cricket is being played only in few countries, it will be too early to include the same in the Olympics.

its funny to see some comments by some of the american baseball fans lol..
tells u how upset they are about losing baseball and softball from olympics..

99.99% of them still believe that ALL cricket games last for 5 days, its kinda funny

and yes cricket will most likely be added to the olympics,
but it will be the twenty20 format which only takes 2-3 hours to wrap up.

wait till the success of the Twenty20 Worldcup which will be held in South Africa, that will be a big promo for the game.

for sure it should be in the olympics cricket would have to be one of the most popular sports in the world
it is one of the most popular sports in india
thats 1 sixth of the world population right there(1.2 billion) australia 20 million, uk 40 million, nz 4mill, sth africa 40 mill, sri lanka 19 mill,
pakistan 126 million, west indies 3million. now lets say half of the population of each country listed above likes cricket
that would be over 700 million people
i bet that you would strugle to find 300million people who like synconized swimming, baseball, lawn bowls, ping pong, and a hundred more sports that are alll ready in the olympics
sure every (likes)synconized swimming, baseball, lawn bowls, ping pongwell , ect but you would never find 100000 people in a stadium watching lawn bowls or ping pong would you
also there are a lot of people who find cricket boring and dont think it should be a olympic for this reason
well "dont watch it!!! i find ping pong and lawn bowls boring as bat crap so guess what i dont watch it.
GET CRICET IN THE OLYMPICS

never played since I live in the US. But, is there a version of cricket that can be completed in a two week timeframe? I thought those matches lasted a month. I have a feeling it's due to the length of time required to play and with so many teams, how would they complete it time?
