I have a denon udra70 stereo and want to add a subwoofer. We have a normal sub for our dvd system so i decided to try it on my stereo. It did not work. Do i need a powered sub or is my plug just not working?
Thanks, Andrew

A powered sub uses RCA cables at line level from the subwoofer output on your stereo. To use a passive sub, you would run your speaker cables to the passive sub. A passive sub has inputs for speaker cables coming from your stereo and a crossover output that feeds the sound out to your other speakers with the bass filtered out.

alot of comp subs have interchangeable cones, one for every day, then they which it out for comp's. the comp cone could have an prolonged voice coil with extra day trip and of direction takes alot extra power to run. the comp cone would be faulty and genuine loud, it fairly is not the ideal sounding, it fairly is made for comps while u change the cone out for the daily driving force cone and u get extra effective sound yet wont be as loud. some agencies purely slap the be conscious opposition on a sub just to get ppl to purchase it. so u fairly have been given to appreciate what ur procuring in any different case ull finally end up with a crappy sub
