I think it would help, a 15 minutes nap would make you refreshed. But this would never fly in America, it would be seen as lazyness. American business has changed priorities in the last 20 years. They want to work you to exhaustion, take take take as much as possible. I think this backfires. When I get a true break over the weekend, I come in monday morning energized and refreshed. When they hassle me to do work on saturdays (to get their 'money's worth'), I come in monday frazzled and ready to quit.

I think it should be considered. A power nap is shown to be beneficial. More importantly, I think we should start the work day a little later in the morning. I'm supposed to be at work at 8:30 AM, but I would work so much better if I came in around 10 AM. This gives my brain time to actually wake up! My productivity is usually very low in the early morning anyway because I'm just drinking coffee & scanning emails.
So, if we can't sleep at work...we should atleast mandate a later start to the work day.

There's some research that indicates that the human brain works better after about a 15-20 minute nap during the afternoon. I think there are some "nap spots" in NYC that allow people to get a quick rest on their lunch hour (beats snoring at your desk or in your car!).
As long as people took their naps in conjunction with their lunch breaks, I think it would be a great idea.

Have you considered becoming bilingual, or at least becoming proficient in French. You could move there and then get those naps.
I have seen research suggesting people benefit from a cat nap, but corporate America isn't going to provide that kind of a benefit anytime soon.
On the other hand, what you do on your lunch break is your business. Sleep, if you want.

France also has a 35 hour work week and apparently once you hire someone it is nearly impossible to fire them. I would imagine that nappy time is next. I can't imagine corporate US allowing this nonsense. I get paid to do my job. Can't do my job if I'm sleeping. That is what your time off is for.

I don't think so. If the US allows this, why they pay people to work for them. Every country has their own rules.

no, how much production do you think you could make while asleep, this is what work is about to the business owners. what one country does own it's own does not always reflect what we as a country should do. be real.
