At movie theatres, college lectures, work meetings...people are always told to turn off their cell phones. Yet someone's cell phone ALWAYS goes off? Why is this?

ahhh!!! I know what you mean! Everytime I am taking an exam, the professor says loud and clear "TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONE". Then he writes it on the board, "TURN OFF CELL PHONES." And then at the top of the exam it says, "PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONES." And then what happens 10 minutes into the test? Some piece of crap ring tone comes on! Then everyone looks at them and they act all embarassed and stop it from ringing. And what happens 15 min later? It goes off AGAIN! What the hell is wrong with these people???? They should require a course in high school where you just learn how to turn your cell phone on and off and when it is appropriate to do so, because lord knows people can't figure that out themselves.

I`m more disappointed in some of my friends who continue talking in the cell phone while sitting in a social setting. Why can`t they turn it off or walk away instead of disturbing? I really don`t get why people all ways want to be available at all times of the day...

People just have a general lack of respect for others. It's all about them, and the rest of us can kiss off if we don't like it. I hate those kinds of people. And it never fails that the idiots are sitting next to me at the theater when this happens so I get to hear their whole conversation. The last time, I left my seat and complained. The theater threw out the girl who just had to take the call, and they gave me tickets to the next show so I could see what I missed.

Out of all the nice things to be called, you get called dude...it would irritate me but not necessarily a turn off. Unless it's constant. That's a whole different story then lol

They are inconsiderate morons! All they can think about is themselves. It really drives me crazy in the hospital! One time at my child's Christmas performance after the phone rang a few times the moron answered and preceded to have a very loud conversation as he made his way outside and he really looked as if he had no clue that he was disrupting the entire performance!

Usually, forgetful/lazy. The people who leave them on think someone with something so important is going to call and the truth usually-a caller asks the cell phone person "where are you, what are you doing" modern technology...
