Lack of education/resources for birth control...

A lot of minority women also seem to have baby after baby so they can stay on welfare, medicaid, wic and food stamps.

Number ONE: Lack of education

2) Generations learn from generations

3) What else are you going to do? Can't afford to go to the movies so lets get a 40 and screw! (Ok, crude, but you get it!)

Those claiming that poor people can't afford birth control are delusional. It costs WAY more to raise a child than to use birth control. Most hospitals and college health centers have baskets of free condoms sitting out for anyone to take by the handful. Condoms only cost about $8 for a 12-pack... if you can't afford $8 you sure as hell can't afford a baby. Plus, there are plenty of options to get low or no cost birth control pills/patches/shots, etc. Even WITHOUT health insurance a pack of birth control pills is $30 a month. Seriously, if you can't afford THAT you can't afford a kid.

Life's expensive. It costs a lot to raise a child. You need to be able to save up to rise out of poverty. By having a baby early in life, you delay being able to get into a program where you can earn more money. The births are what make it hard to accumulate wealth - they are often to single mothers, who are among the poorest of the population.

1)Boredom! It takes money to keep entertained and if your poor you don't have money, there fore you can't be entertained.
2)Allot of people that are poor are on some type of state or goverment aide, and the more children you have the more moneey you get.
3)Money. now I know there are places to get condoms and foams and pills for free, but have you priced those lately?
4)Education. As scary as it sounds there really are people out there that are still believers in the pull out method, or to do jumping jackx after sex.
That is my opinion.

Okay, so far every answer is wrong. "Poverty" stricken people have more children because the value LIFE over entertainment and the worship of money, as Jesus said, you can't serve God and mammon (money), you choose one or the other.

Children are infinitely better than money. Many in America are deceived into thinking otherwise. Just look at the answers here.

Being poor is depressing. Sex is a free form of entertainment. It can also be a form of comfort for people. We saw many babies born in June of 2002, which were conceived around the time of 9/11. Experts contribute that to people taking comfort in one another during a time of crisis. Also if people don't have jobs, then they have a lot of spare time on their hands, so again sex is a form of entertainment.

Poor people cannot afford to go out and do fun things, they are stuck at home most of the time. Being poor is depressing so having sex is one thing couples do to stay connected amidst times of trouble. Plus sex is fun and free. Not to mention, poor adults often can't afford birth control.

Because the poor have nothing to do but, have babies. They don't have the money for hobbies or to go out on the town.
