Oh good lord - I assume you're from the US. Please don't ever tell a Welshman that you think he's from England - you'll get beaten up! OK, the UK consists of 4 countries - England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. These countries act in many ways as one, but have distinct traditions. More recently, Wales has it's own "parliament" - the Welsh assembly, which allows it to have more control over it's laws. Do come visit some time - the UK is lovely!

Wales is in the United Kingdom (of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland). Wales and England are separate countries - Wales is definitely not in England!

No - Wales is a separate country within the UK. As in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales are all part of UK, or Great Britain.

Wales is not in England - it is a separate country, like Scotland. They are all part of the UK though as you say.

Wales is a separate country, but for some reason is classed by most people who should know better as part of England, unlike Scotland and Northern Ireland, why this should be I do not know or understand and by the way I am not Welsh myself.

Great Britain consists of the countries England, Scotland, and Wales.
The United Kingdom also includes Northern Ireland.
Wales was United with England in 1536-42, but it has it's own language and traditions, and I see Wales as a distinct country from England, united in both Great Britain, and the United Kingdom.
