I realize that being pregnant you tend to be a bit more forgetful. But I am now 39 weeks pregnant and through my entire pregnancy, I was never very good about taking my vitamins. I always kept them by my bed to try and remember but I ALWAYS forgot. No sense in really stressing about it now since I am so close to the end...but should I be worried at all?

Vitamins are important when your pregnant mostly because you are feeding two bodies. The baby has been taking nutrients from you since day one, they get fed first, and what ever the baby needs comes out of you. So if your not getting your total nutrients than neither is baby.
Your so close to D Day, I wouldn' t be sitting around worrying about it at this point though it is important and they do stress it. But if your health is good, your diet is balanced and you've had no problems than I wouldn't be too concerned, Really. With my second child the vitimans made me so sick I gave up on taking them, instead I turned to rich foods, more fruits, yogurt smoothies and things I knew would give me that extra nutrients I needed.
It's the baby that's taking everything from you, so You need alot of iron, you need more calcium and you could get that in food without ever taking extrta vitimans, but in today's world how people eat, more often than not your told to take a vitiman to back up whatever you dont' get enough of while eating.

So unless your eating sweets left and right fast foods, and greased up finger foods I'd say by this time unless the doctor has mentioned something your in good health and so is baby.
I wouldn't worry at this point honestly, just keep eating well enough to keeo your strenght up and moving. Remember baby takes everything they need from you!

Good luck, congrats!

I can't seem to remember the dang things either, so I have been keeping a couple boxes of Total cereal at work to eat throughout the day and at home to eat at breakfast, I know it's not the same as a vitamin but is better than nothing. I don't worry about it too much. My Mom said she never took vitamins when pregnant with my sister and I and she got through it just fine :)

I'm 37 and I forget to so we can worry together ok. Must be the pregnancy memory problem everyone talks about but are child will be ok Its us that will have problems. I have been told to try and remember because the baby will steal the vitamins from my body so the baby is getting everything it needs its just us that isn't. Its also ok were near the end we are going to stress about everything just to be ready for the baby as long as were not stressing so much its causeing problems in are life.

We tend to worry about these things alot but I guess if your diet was accomodating to the recommended pregnancy diet you and your baby should be ok because the baby takes all that he/she needs before we get our supply, so we would lack more than our baby and probably realise if anything is wrong through our tests. Some people carry children until 7months and not know about their pregnancy, some are too poor to purchase all the necessary pills and maitain the correct diet and they still have beautiful babies. I think the most harm we can do to our babies is eating and drinking the things that can be harmful to them.

No the vitamans are really for you because the baby it taking it from you. As long as you are eating rihgt and taking them every now and then I am sure you will be fine. I often forgot to take them during my pgs. I have four very healthy and happy children. Good luck

Vitamins are a preventative thing... if you are eating balanced meals you don't need them... so don't fret... also try making the pills part of a routine... like (put them next to your tooth brush)... or for me I (take daily BP meds) get a glass of OJ every morning so my pills are next to the juice glasses...

Good luck

properly i be conscious of that in case you have too lots iron it could make you ill. Sooo it could make your toddler ill too. yet while i've got been you in case you concept you took it already then it would be safer to merely not take it and take one the subsequent day....yet you may get a pill organizer for daily of the week after which you will shop music of in case you took your prenatal nutrition or not :)

No. I never took vitamins with either of my pregnancies. As long as you are eating healthy, they are not even needed.
