I know someone that trying to break off a friendship in a nice way without hurting there feelings. They feel like the other friend does not treat her as a friend and she tries to run her life, and is very jealous of her and always saying things to hurt her feeling instead of saying helpful words. What should she do?

Just tell her up front that you don't feel the friendship is progressing.
This happened to me about a year ago. Same thing, her intense and borderline/psycho jealousy an dinsecurity drove us apart. She always had to one-up me and I just couldn't deal with her negativity anymore. When I talked to her, i felt worse than when I didn't. So one day I just told her what I thought and that was the end of it. Life is about being in positive situations with positive people. Not the opposite.

im going through this situation. i ignored her for two months, with her calling EVERRRRRRRRYDAY, thinking she'd get the hint, but OBVIOUSLY DIDNT!!!! she then sent me a text saying "we are NOT friends anymore. its over." and i sent her a reply saying that I hated her attitude anyways and that if she was gonna be vindictive, i wouldnt participate. and then what does she do? SHE CALLS ME THE NEXT DAY! Today, im on the verge of EXPLODING. Im gonna call her later and just let her know what the hell is up. She thinks i want to repair the friendship. I dont.

i think it's best to talk it out and try to find solutions first (to the problems). if still, one party no longer feels that the friendship is worth keeping, just don't continue talking and staying in touch. sooner or later, distance will set in and the friendship may not exist as strongly as it did before. =\

Misery loves company. Dump that negativity. It does nothing for your self esteem or spirit. Let her find another person to vent on. I stay away from people that pull me down, I want to lift people up and expect the same behavior. Plus she ain't her friend anyway, so she has nothing to lose in telling her to go jump in the LAKE.

OH cripes...when she find out can she let me know?? lol
"Breaking up" with a friend is hard Hard HARD! Honesty and kinness never quite seem to be enough...there is too much emotion. EEK! Wish her luck for me!

I think a real and true friend wouldn't do this to a person.
