I think I may be getting over charged for rent. How do I go about finding out if this is true?

What makes you think you're being overcharged for rent? Do you have a lease that specifies a monthly amount? If so, does the amount of rent you pay exceed the amount on your lease?

If you are, then you are entitled to a credit for a subsequent amount of rent.

What your neighbors pay for the same or similar place is irrelevant to your situation.

How can you be overcharged? Didn't you and the landlord agree on a rental fee before you moved in? It doesn't matter what the neighbors are paying... you don't know how long they've been there, what their lease agreement is, what amenities their place has, etc. What matters is what you signed on the lease and agreed to pay.

Did you sign a lease or rental contract? If so, look at that. Talk to your neighbors and find out what they're paying. Can't get much easier than that...good luck!
