I was unhappy with the last show. I really think that Sam and Marcel should have been the finalists. Ilian does the same old stuff over and over. He is a whiner and a snitch, not that anything matters but the food. I wondered if Marcel had been sabotaged by hs crew. Mikey was nasty after he was chosen. Marcel should have picked Mia instead. Neither Marcel nor Ilian is ready to be big name chefs, IMO.

Well, it's a reality show, and the producers aren't likely going to upset fans by rewarding the show's designated villain with the title. (If you watch the ending credits, you see that decisions are made by both the judges AND the show's producers.) That being said, it did appear that although Ilan's style of cooking is not as difficult as Marcel's, Ilan had a better grasp on his style of cooking that Marcel did. And dish for dish, Ilan put out a better class of food on last night's show. Overall, it didn't look like either was prepared to own and operate his own restaurant. A disappointing season, but I'm up for a third round.

I wanted Ilan to win. To be Top Chef I think the winner needed to be able to make great food, but also run the kitchen. The entire season, Marcel eventually got under everyone's skin. To work in a kitchen, you need to be a team player, and I don't think he'd get the respect he'd deserve if running his own kitchen.
Ilan showed greater leadership in the kitchen. You have to look at the whole picture.

No. I am glad Ilan won. I think Marcel may have been more adventurous but Ilans food was wonderful as the judges said, even if he did stick with what he knew. I think nice guys should win and I don't think Marcel was nice.

Just my opinion. Not trying to be rude or anything. I know others who feel the same as you.

Ilan cooked what he KNEW & obviously cooked it well.
His team wanted to make SURE that he beat Marcel.

Marcel wasn't "bullied" just for the sake of bullying.
He was disliked by EVERY SINGLE OTHER CHEF!

Why do you think he was sooooooo disliked?
Marcel cheated early in the competition & that is why ALL the other chefs disliked him.
To keep the competition on an even playing field no contestant was allowed (prior to the finale) to bring or use any of their own ingredients or equipment or cookbooks or recipes.
Having any of these items would give one an unfair advantage.
ALL had to cook and/or create using the SAME products/utensils/equipment as the others.

Ever wonder why (according to him) Marcels ice cream, in episode 3, was the only one with a different consistancy?
Or he was the only one who could perform the infamous "foams" ?

Marcel was confronted & had ingredients confiscated.
He brought ingredients with him & was caught with them.

Why do you think Ilan tried to "foam" a salad dressing (unsuccessfully, I might add) ?
Do ya think he was trying to prove a point? That maybe Marcel was using additional ingredients that were not available to the others.....? Or did you see just the (much editted) version on TV that kind of looked like he was just mocking Marcel?

Marcel cheated PERIOD
& He admittedly tried to intimidate to throw other chefs off of their game.
His plan/ploy worked much to his own advantage & got him to the Finale.
Then, when he WAS ALLOWED to bring his little arsenal of chemicals........his only success with them was adding a chemical gum to fresh pineapple & calling it POI.

I think that Marcel is more of what they always said that they wanted in a Top Chef , Like being creative and and willing to take chances. But i think he screwed it up in the end with his second course being a salad. He should have done something different then that . thats what i think

Ilan had the better over all record in challenges.

He had the better people skills.

He never cheated like Marcel.

And he had the good sense to listen to others unlike Marcel who was warned about the salad and the humidity by the head judge.

Ilan won three plates to two and his people liked him.
