can our politician ever think of country!s poor population?

we talk of economic progress but 35% to 45% of population is below poverty line and most youth are under employed.just because they do not have fluency and expression of english.

Yes they are called Democrats. They are doing what they can to raise the Min. wage law. They came up with Student Grants, Student Loans, Federal Housing, Sec.8 housing, Food Stamps ,Medicare, Medicaid, They believe that the Super Wealthy Should pay their fair share of taxes not give them a pat on the back and tell them we don't want your money you don't have to pay taxes like the Republicans do.The Republicans use massive brain washing to get the poor working class to vote for them.Any poor person who votes Republican because he has been brain washed into thinking that the Republicans are the Christian Party, are making a huge mistake.People aren't Lazy there are very few jobs to be had. Cheep food is fattening. Try eating Mac&Cheese bread&Butter and not have good salads and fruits and veggies and see if you don't get fat.

Politicians don't care about the poor because:

1. Most of them don't pay taxes (ie, their salary) and the ones that do don't pay enough to matter.

2. Most of them don't vote.

3. Most of them don't support the large corporations that pay lobbiests to influence the politicians.

4. The vocal portion of the poor expect the government to simply hand them a check to bail them out. Notice that I didn't say the majority, just the vocal portion. If the majority of those below the poverty line (which includes our servicemen and women by the way) would stand up and offer a sollution that didn't involve simply handing out money, then they might be willing to listen.

5. Because they need the poor to stay poor. The world needs ditch diggers. If you don't want to be a ditch digger, you can take it apon yourself to rise above without the government. It can be done. It's hard, and not everyone will make it.

What I don't understand is why they don't think teachers deserve to be compensated for their contribution to society. All of our countries problems can be tied to education. If the government made education a top priority and gave schools the resources they really need, then our kids would become more educated and solve all of our other problems. It all starts with the teachers. If teachers don't get paid a fair salary, then less people will want to be teachers, and those that do will not get burnt out after only a few years.

I don't think it has anything to do with their ability to speak English.

I'm not sure where you are living, but maybe you should move to some place where there is more economic freedom.

Poverty is usually caused by bad decisions, a lack of ambition, and an unwillingness to do what it takes to improve one's situation. The government cannot and should not be a replacement for those things.

Either get an education or start a business. Do something, but don't look for a hand out or else you're just contributing to the problem.

Yes they are called Democrats they need the poor and downtrodden to advance their agenda for an unlimited government that controls every aspect of your life. Their political future relies entirely on the existance of the poor. For that reason people that would have an average standard of living in socialist Europe are listed as below the poverty line in the United States.

The poor become a convenient excuse to disregard the rule of law and individual rights. To excuse the forced redistribution of income from those who earn to those who vote for the Democrats.

NO ONE WHO WORKS FOR A LIVING SHOULD HAVE TO LIVE IN POVERTY!! The government is saying that over (8) million workers do not deserve an honest days pay for an honest days work! They have kept the people in poverty since 1997!! they are saying you don't matter,they don't care!! You will not receive $7.25hr in full until 2010!! Would you work 12yrs for a 17.6 cent an hour increase in your pay check!!What would you do if those 8+ million refused to work for poverty level wages and walked off the job tomorrow!!!

Im not sure i agree with one of these answers about lazy ppl here, but to address your question I'm not sure what our politicians or govt is thinking, but just 2 weeks ago i believe it was in pinellas county fl., the law enforcement officers and fire fighters took box cutters and ripped to shreads the tents of homeless people while the cameras were rollin. Some of these ppl may not be lazy and the ones i saw on the news definitely wasnt obese, Regular citizens donated new tents for them. I want to know why didnt the police dept donate them?

This is a gud question...well to start of with....politicians should stop foreign investments instead they can develop the country by training our regional people and completing tasks..the answer is foreign investments should be stopped...they are no use for a normal person....english is just a language...then y companies need every one to be fluent in english as if they are sharing profits with everyone....?

This is a liberal myth, and the vast majority of people are out there stuffing their faces.

The main problem today is obesity and fatty stores for oversize clothing, ect. are growing by leaps and bounds. Obesity-related diseases are at an all time high, both in adults and children.

This is what poltiicians need to address, more than poverty, which has been pretty much wiped out except for a few clueless and lazy people.

Well here's an idea. LEARN TO SPEAK FREAKIN ENGLISH. My family came to this country and did not speak a word of English but somehow they learned and all of their children spoke English fluently. I refuse to believe that all the immigrants in this country can not learn to speak English. I know that if I moved to China I wouldn't ask for all the people there to speak English.
