Favorite is San Francisco, and least favorite is Houston. The weather is the main reason in both cases. SF is temperate with no great extremes of temperature and no snows or hurricanes. Houston is often extremely hot and humid ten months of the year and drops to 20 degrees F. in January and February. Flooding is frequent. There are some hurricanes that come inland and tornadoes. Some days it is "too windy to haul rocks" the natives say. Houston people are friendly, but the weather can make tempers flare. SF people are more "mellow".

My very favourite was Rhode island where lived in a castle...yes a real live castle!!!! Replete with widows walk and a first place in every room and most of the rooms were round...absolutely lovely and a fortune to heat!!!
My most unfavouite place was Phoenix as the heat was so stifling that the day my daughter was born the heat index reached 122 degrees.....I have lived in many different terrains and I found the economy there to be terrible and the heat only compounded it.
There are perhaps worse conditions to live in for others, but I have found that for me these are the absolute top and bottom.
Thanks and great question by the way.....

Well my favorite is also my least favorite. I loved living in Pensacola Florida, lots of beaches but I the cost of living is outrageous. Something that costs on thing in the Winter triples in the Summer due to the tourists that come in. I didn't find the people all that friendly either.

Favorite: Waegwon S. Korea - Friendly people, great food, shopping is inexpensive, close to Camp Carrol, very historic, just an unusual place to live. Would go back if I could.
Least Favorite: Sierra Vista, AZ, Small town, hardly any job market, businesses don't want to pay, no fresh seafood, people don't know how to drive, mainly elderly people.

Fave: Dallas Texas. Great weather, lots to do, very culturally diverse, great job market, friendly people.
Least Fave: Champaign, IL, cold winters but little snow, lots of rain, small job market, boring, everything revolves around the University, rude, closed minded people.

maximum renowned place - Roanoke, VA: suitable scenary, friendly human beings and authentic Southern hospitality. I savour returning there time and time back. Least renowned place - Atlanta, GA: very virtually substitute into mugged two times, human beings dying in below the impact of alcohol employing crashes on a daily basis, not friendly, overtly antagonistic, could not wait to pass away. never decide to return now that the Atlanta hip-hop attitude has unfold like kudzu up and down the East Coast.

I've lived in FLORIDA my whole life since 1983! The worst would have to be Christmas,Fl ! ( too many hicks and red necks), The best would have to be Ocoee,Fl it's really coming together we're getting lots and lots of NEW Developments and shopping places and MORE restauraunts and more doctors offices and cleaner streets and cleanier neighborhoods not too many crimes! Nicer landscape in some parts of Ocoee!

Least favorite: Las Vegas, NV. Too many people, too much out of control growth, low paying jobs due to the influx of people, unsafe and crime ridden, fake people.
Favorite: Cleveland, OH. Real people, great food and entertainment, all major sports teams, excellent arts scene, excellent higher education, and did I mention real people? :-)
