You're a coach, right?
If this is a youth league then just make up awards, like Most Expected to Be Seen In The Penalty Box, you know, just stuff to make the players and their parents laugh
But if this is for like a high school team or a college team, then definitely stick with MVP, most goals scored etc. Also, add in Best Shooting Percentage, Best Goalie, Most Helpful (assists), Best Special Teams Player, Most Valuable Defensive Player, and Hardest Hitter

Biggest Troll : Scoot Best User : Lity & Cyreneica (spelling?). Too hard to choose Funniest user : Pat H, even though Casey supplies great subtle humor Worst at actually answering the question : Miles AKA Kilometres Biggest cheat : No names but we all have a silent vote, and its the same damn one. Most supported team : Maple Leafs I would say, by a slim margin thought. Most Missed ex-user : Thelau. His sam old answers were great but his occasional real answer was actually decent! Best at making others feel like stupid crap : Bob, without a doubt. I would love to bring home this (unofficial) trophy some day. This is an amazing trophy because you have to be funny AND smart to get it. Congrats Bob (I mean it) Only focuses on their team the most : 2 years ago I may have gotten this trophy, but that was 2 years ago. Jake (the snake) gets it. Ironically also a Panthers fan. Best Avatar : I love Disney so Canadian Mickey gets this one in my example. Im all out of crappy ideas. BQ of my own. What trophy would I receive (can be made up about anything) BQ: Talked about Disney above^ I live in Florida and have been to both MANY times. Disney trips count up to about the 50's in my lifetime, yeah. It is ridiculous how much I go and I still LOVE it there. BQ2: I have 2 stuffed dinosaurs that I sleep with every night (lame, I know but idgaf). One is a pterodactyl named 'Swoop' and the other is a t-rex named 'Objection'. BQ3: Yes, Bon Scott only though. The new singer is....eh..

Depending on the age of the team, awards for individual performance can do more harm than good. USA Hockey prefers that scoring statistics not be kept for younger players. Focusing on goals scored tends to promote more selfish play and less passing too.
I'd suggest awards for the team and if you want to give out individual awards make sure everyone gets one - goal of the year, pass of the year, defensive play of the year, ironman - and keep it light. There are parents who will be furious that their child wasn't the MVP.

Inspirational awards "most team spirit" , "Rudy Award", those kinds of things...
Make some fun ones as well. "Best high sticking" or "Checker Deluxe"... Anyone missing any teeth? "Best argument for a Dental Plan"
With the serious you should have the goofy just to even it out.
You can also have recognition for best defensive player, offensive player, etc.
