The roaring twenties is one of the great historical decades in U.S. history. You could examine anyone of the following.
1.) Demobilization after World War One. Returning Gi's had money in their pockets and there was a great many new products to spend it on. The car being the major one. A deep recession ensued at this early time, but it soon gave way as America and Canada adapted to peace time once more. This area would cover the "lost generation" among whom people such as Hemmingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald became disillusioned with the new found greed for wealth.
2.) Prohibition. You could trace its origins and carry on through its end and finish with how it relates if any with todays sentiment to restrict advertising, a further look at marketing of alcohol spirits to todays youth such as the variety of colorful and flavored drinks. (I have some very good information on this subject. If you are interested, I will be glad to send it to you. Just email me at sgt_cook@yahoo.com Subject: Homework Help.)
3.) Then there is Black Tuesday, which would signal the Great Depression.
4.) You could look at the womens movement and their desire for more freedom and equal rights. This area would also look at the new, and shocking to many, fashion styles for women.
5.) Further more, you could explore the rise of organized crime. The gansters of the roaring 20's.

You could do a project on how the decadence and overproduction of the 20's led to the great depression. For instance, the farmers made so much food that the price plummeted and they lost their farms. Also, too many people traded with money that didn't exist anymore. The banks had already spent most of the money and couldn't pay the farmers back what they owed them so they declared bankruptcy.
