Who says that?
I am the calmest person in the world....
You could ask my boss, my partner and all my colleagues.....
;)
Besides, you might get "abuses" when you are a child, but when you grow up, women all envy your natural hair colour and try to imitate it and fail miserably! Even my hairdresser couldn´t believe that my hair colour is natural. So I am very happy to be a red head!!!

I think that is a bit of a stereotype. People with AND without red hair can have fiery tempers. Hey, look at Zinedine Zidane, or Kim Jong-il.

I wasn't aware that all red heads have this fiery temper, my niece is a red head and has a very sunny disposition. You could go as far as to ask why all white people can't dance? Have all black men got big members? And do all Essex girls have loose virtues?

before boudica raised a rebel army to strike back at the very out of order romans in britain, about one in five britons was a red head. having failed to rid britain of these despicable romans, the romans struck back. by the end of the campaign, only one in twenty two britons were red heads.
that'd get your back up somewhat, eh?
i've heard that red heads have particularly sensitive skin, perhaps that accuity of feeling transcends a purly dermal level and we are, in fact, strongly sensitive emotionally, not just in the firey anger department.
"brunettes are real good, and blondes are great fun,
but ya need a red headed woman to get a dirty job done" - lyrics from some country and western song... ;-}

There is no genetic basis behind it.
However, there may be a psychologically derived one, in that red-headed people are treated in a certain way due to their hair colour (the belief that they are fiery tempered, the belief that they are more prone to trouble, etc) and some people may be acting in a manner that is expected of them based on that treatment.
Kind of like the "all blondes are airheads" myth - plenty act like they're dumb but it's more the expectation that they are dumb. Blondes tend therefore to be airheads because they've been raised like that, or become highly competitive and try to disprove the myth.
Incidentally, about half of all the girls in my lab are blonde... they are highly motivated to prove they are not just "dumb blondes".
And a friend who is naturally dark dyed her hair blonde becuase she wanted the attention being blonde gets you... even though she feels she gets treated like an airhead, she now has much more attention from the men who thought her far too serious before becuase she was dark haired.

They do don't they!!!!!
My sister is a red head, we used to call her "pepper pot"
she has mellowed a bit as she gets older ! Ha ha ha
When i was working in hospital theatre .
they used to say, that red-heads,were more prone
to have hemorrhages, during operations .
we also had problems , with their recovery rates .
( worse reactions to anaesthesia )
So maybe ,that is why red-heads,
are a bit more feisty, than most people !!
