I consider infant to be any child that isn't walking yet, and a toddler would be from the time they walk until they are 2.5-3, (then a pre-schooler). But my kids will always be my babies, no matter how old they get!

I consider an infant from 0-6 months, a baby from 6-23 months, and toddler 24 months to 3 years, preschooler 3-5 or just before kindergarden. Schoolager 5-10, tween 8-11, preteen 11-12, teen 13-18 an adult 18 and up

Newborn is under 6 weeks old
Infant is 6 weeks to until about 12 months
Toddler- When he starts walking to 2.5 years
Preschooler - 2.5 to 4 years
Kid- Over 4
Just some comments on some posts above: There is a fine line between toddler and preschooler though. Age 3 is not a toddler. A toddler is those stages where they start learning to walk and the year to year an a half when they master it.
A pre-teen is a child between 10-12. It's the 2 years BEFORE they hit teen years. 14 is not a preteen.

Newborn to about 6 weeks, Infant to 7months, baby until 18 months, toddler until 4, kids until 12, teens 13 to 18, then young adult at 18 years........Well they'll always be my babies. I don't care how old they get.

Personally a newborn for the first month
infant 2 to 6 months
baby 6 to 18months
toddler 18months to 3 yrs
and a kid from 3 yrs to 11
preteen from 11 to 14
teen from 14 to 18.
