I'm trying to prove the Modified Internal Rate of Return (MIRR) function in Excel. The formula provided by 'Help' take the product to the power of "1/(n-1)". It's been a long time since math class and I don't remember how to compute 'exponential fractions'.

In excel:

just type "=1.07^0.2"

On a calculator type 1.06 x^y 0.2

1.07^(1/5) is the same as root(5)(1.07^1)
