well, IMO there's a real fine line between coaching and player-talent (ie: it's hard to tell whether its real good coaching/scheming or just a really talented roster). I'd have to go with Tony Dungy just for that awesome D he set up in Tampa before they won the SB.

I always wonder why it matters what race the person is. In our world; where blacks and whites are equals having all of the same opportunities and all the same rights, why categorize the question with race? Why not just say "who is the best coach in the NFL?" I think that categorized questions such as this one does more to fuel racism than anything else. I am no expert, and this is just my two cents, so sorry to offend anyone if I have, but its just how I see it.

I just can't see much in Lovie Smith. Tony Dungy is an elite coach year in and year out.

Worst black coach: Dennis Green...lol, who actually says they are going to abandon the run before game day...lol, might be worst coach ever after Ray Rhodes

I would have to say Tony Dungy. I am a Bengal fan and I'd like to say Marvin Lewis, but Marvin has yet to figure out how to control the behavior of his players, so I will go with Dungy.

Tony Dungy. he appears to be a very classy individual. The wins and this trip to the super bowl speak for themself. when you hear him speak, he always has praise for his players and the opposing players and coaches as well.
