we have been living together for a little over 2 years now and guys are so hard to shop for when it comes to this kinda thing...any ideas and extra help will be very much appreciated :)

You could go out to HIS favorite restaurant and let him order whatever he wants....you pay. Then, order one dessert with two forks. Feed each other the dessert. Who cares if people stare, it's Valentine's Day.
OR....
Some tickets to the cheap nosebleed seats to his favorite sporting event? You can see pretty much everything from the upper level.

Valentine's Day doesn't mean much to men... it's more for the female persuasion, but if you really want to make your BF happy you need to observe the holiday on March 14th.... Steak and BJ Day.... if you don't believe me, look it up....

depends on how much you want to spend, but some options are: an xbox360 or playstation 3 (or a couple of games if he already has one), tickets to a game, a jersey of his favorite team, an ipod, a gym membership if he's active, or a massage. i know that the massage thing doesn't sound like a guy thing, but my girlfriend got me one for xmas, and i loved it.
