At my baby shower, they had three or four different games.

1. Make a list of oddball things and have the ladies go through their purses and see who has the most items. My brother and brother-in-law made the list for my shower so it was interesting to say the least.

2. They took a roll of toilet paper and had everyone pull off whatever amount they wanted. They didn't tell them what it was for, but it was to measure around my belly. If your guest of honor is senstitive you might not want to use this one.

3. Have shoebox full of different baby and household items. Take it around and let everyone look for about 30 seconds to a minute. Then have everyone make a list of what was in the box. The person with the most correct items wins.

At each of my showers, they had a decorated bakery cake, in the appropriate colors, the after dinner mints, nuts, and punch.

I never thought I was big on games at a shower, until my own shower, where there were no games. Sometimes it helps take the pressure off the guest of honor.
The one game I really liked was gift bingo. You hand out a blank bingo board and have the guests fill in each spot with what items they think will be unwrapped. Then the unwrapping begins and the guests can check off their board as their items come up. Just speaking from experience from my shower, there were so many presents and looking around everyone seemed so bored. I just feel that people seemed more interested in what was being opened when they were playing gift bingo.

I have also seen showers where the invitations will advise guests to give the mom-to-be a children's books (this can be anywhere from a small cheap book to the gift givers favorite book) instead of a card. The guest then signs their name in the book cover and puts a little message. As the child grows up, they know who the book came from plus they can read the personal message. Again, not something done at my shower, but I thought it was a sweet idea.

There are so many different things you can do. My shower was focused on the theme of my baby's room. The cake, invitations and favors were focused around the lambs.

I agree with the others on the guess the belly size game. That one's fun. It always amazes me how close and how FAR OFF people can get. I've seen it done with baby yarn or toilet paper.

Have fun!!!!!

In your search bar..just enter in the words "Baby showers" and you will get tons of good info from lots of different places.
You should start with a basic theme. This will include the invitations and decorations. If you want to serve a lunch, then you need to come up with a menu...deli platters from Costco or Sams Club are great and fairly inexpensive. Plan to have a few games...like 3 or four. There are lots and lots of good ones available online. Also, you need to have some sort of small prize for the winners...could be a gift card, a girly body set of lotions etc., candles, these are easy to find at Walmart and you can usually find some nice things for like $5 (Candles, potpurri, etc.)
Oh, and a cake....I would have one made unless you are good at that...MOst grocery stores have a book with lots of cute baby themed cakes.
If you need specifics on games, you could e mail me...just have fun with it and make sure that the mommy to be is the star of the day!

Oh, another nice thing to do (I had one at my shower) is to get a memory book for the shower with a place for everyone to write a nice little note for mom and baby. These are available at Party City or you can make your own on the computer! Also, I had an ultrasound image with a picture mat around it that every one signed at the front door.
Good luck!

I'll tell you some games that were a hit at my shower, guess the dirty diaper- you put several different kinds of melted candy bars in seperate diapers and pass them around the room everyone has to guess what it is by looking, smelling or tasting the candy bar. (dont forget to label the diapers with numbers that only you have written down) Guess mommy's belly size- you get some ribbon maybe 3 spools or so and have everyone cut off a strip that they think will fit around the mommy's belly then at the end you all wrap yours around the biggest section and whoever is closest wins. (That one was very entertaining) Baby price is right- before the shower by a few motherly neccesities like diapers, wipes, shampoo, bottles and things like that, keep the receipt and make a list of how much each item was and then total it before tax and have everyone guess what each item is worth whoever gets closest wins. Then mommy to be gets to take all those goodies home.

For food keep in mind the mommys favorites and nothing that will upset her tummy. We just had chips and dip fruit trays and veggie trays. (and of course a cake)

For favors my mother handed out small bags of sampler bottles from bath and body works of lotions and soaps and things like that

Hope these ideas have helped you, have fun with it and good luck!

Make it simple, remember people will want to talk, so you don't need it to task/time oriented.

Play about 2 or maybe 3 games (word scramble, bingo, memory from a tray of items, guess the babyfood by it's color ect)

Have a cake

fruit tray, meat/ cheese tray/ sandwiches, don't make the meal too difficult on yourself.

Just have fun!

Oh and don't forget the corsage for the mommy to be--you can have a rattle or booties put in it for fun...some flower places may provide it, but some may only add if you provide.
