Your body takes at least 8-10 days minimum to ovulate after a period. If you are trying to conceive, I highly recommend investing in ovulation predictor kits. These are urine sticks similar to a home pregnancy test that you use daily beginning a few days before you expect you will ovulate. You can pinpoint exactly when you are ovulating. The kits are in drugstores like CVS or Walgreens. Remember to use them in the afternoon, at the same time each day, not first thing in the morning like you would a home pregnancy test.

By charting I assume you mean temperatures. I found this very frustrating and like you, had cycles that didn't seem to make sense. I liked using the ovulation predictors because I had a clearer idea of what was going on.

Good luck!

Of course it's possible. In fact, some women believe they are infertile b/c they are not conceiving when the reason is unusually early ovulation.

What kind of charting did you use? Cervical fluid and temp are the most reliable indicators.
