I can. It takes practice but I don't open my mouth at all when I put mascara on. It's taking it off that's the problem. For that you seem to need an open mouth!

I do not open my mouth when putting on mascara. Also I use a all natural mascara that is made with walnut shells. It colors your lashes,is great for your eyebrows and you do not have to take it off!

When I pay attention to what I'm doing, I realized that I'm one of the few women who doesn't open my mouth when I put mascara on. Of course that can't be said when I have a cold or allergy attack and can't breathe through my nose... =)

When you open your mouth your eyes naturally open a little bit. It also feels easier to open your eyes wider with your mouth being open than closed.

It is definitely a mystery of nature, but all women do it. Try keeping your mouth closed next time. Applying your eye ink won't be as easy!

it is nothing to do with stretching your skin as when i first started to put make up on clients i was doing it myself, i have learnt not to as my clients didn't like it. but my husband asked why i frown when I'm putting it on i think it is purely concentration of not wanting to poke your self in the eye the best way is to have a mirror on flat on the table so you are looking down into it this dose help you not to have your mouth wide open girls.

It's because opening your mouth stretches the skin and makes it easier to work round and wrinkles and other skin folds.

It's the same when you put lenses in.
