No. For the very good reasons put forward already by others. Notice that I am not asking Italy, Greece or Egypt to apologise for a slave trade they built empires on long before we ever did.
Secondly, Britain abolished slavery a long time ago, before most other nations did and certainly before any major power did. In fact the Royal Navy was tasked with stopping foreign slave ships on the high seas, a clear act of war against major powers. So I think the crimes of our ancient ancestors have been redeemed by our more recent ones.

who is going to apologise none of us were alive then or responsible. Who are we going to apologise to. Some descendants of slaves live a much better life in there new country rather than that of war torn, drought riddled and corrupt African countries.
Slavery was an evil thing but its over in Britain and has been for more years than living memory.

No, Britain did have a hand in it but they were one of the first countries to abolish it. Go and get an apology from the dutch. Yea i know they are now ultra liberal but once upon a time they began the slave trade. (However not going back to ancient times)
People today seem to try to cover the events of the past with the morales of today. Go and get an apology from Norway about what the vikings did!

How far back in time shall any country go to apologise for something? 1300? 1066? 200BC? Stupid idea!!!
Not only that.... alot of the slaves that were sold into slavery were captured and sold by the people living in Africa as slavery was a way of life in Africa and the middle east.... You need to read up a bit before putting questions on here dude.

No. By apologising for something that happened so long ago, it only re-raises the question and incites discontent that had long been forgotten.
Also, WE did not slave people, our ancestors did. Should the Germans apologise for the pillaging of the Anglo-Saxons? No, and why would they? THEY did not do it, nor have we been slavers. The whole idea is really not well thought out.

Five thousand years of slaving on the continent and you want us to apologise for 80 years.
