I am isuppose to start a new job either tomorrow or Monday. The director is suppose to call me today to tell me what day she wants me to start. My husband is having dental work tomorrow will need to be driven to the dentist and home. Would it look bad on my part if I aske her if I could start on Monday instead? Only serious responses requested, sarcastic ones not appreciated.

Thank you for your time

I would not push my luck by asking to start on Monday rather than Friday. Like they say, you never get a second chance to make a first impression. Certainly you can arrange for another family member/friend to take him back and forth to the dentist. If not, I suggest a taxi this one time.

I would be surprised if they would want you to start on a Friday. Take your chances and maybe they will ask you to start Monday. But have a backup plan for the hubby just in case. Good luck in your new position!

I don't know what kind of job this is. Sometimes, the new employee has to go through training and the start date depends on the availability of the training person. If you wait till the director calls you, I'm afraid everything is already set up and you are going to make it difficult for them by asking to change the date. I suggest call her before she calls you and say your husband has to go in for an appointment and you are wondering if there is any chance you could start on Mon. But also say that if it's not convenient for them to start on Mon, you will ask your husband to change the appointment. Keep the conversation polite and if you sense hesitation on her part, just drop it and don't make a big deal.

As that's a technicality and you have no longer began your employment yet, in case you want to get carry of the earnings you're able to desire to sign and attend all interest centre appointments up till you start up artwork. Then each and every week or so till now you start up your employment and as long as you have no longer any signings that week you may only sign off. you won't have the ability to easily deliver the e book off and say you desire to declare as much as a month, as above, you're able to desire to nonetheless attend to sign whether you do have a job start up.

It's a reasonable request, but I'd be proactive and call the director immediately. I don;t knwo what the job entails, but if it involves something for which he would have to find a replacement for that day, the longer you wait, the worse off he will be.

Since you haven't started yet, I think that would be very appropriate. Call her up and explain the situation to her. I imagine she will be very supportive.
