I think it'd be cool. I've always loved to write, and I would like to publish a book, too. I go through Borders, though, and scan the spines of thebooks and think "would my book just be overlooked?"
Go for it, though! Write and write and write some more. JK Rollings' Potter series was rejected at least once before it was published. Don't give up.

If this is about your sixteenth year then you should keep a daily diary of you life. latter you can write out the parts that you want to put in your book and make up a plot of some kind to coincide with that. I think this is a wonderful Idea you should watch the old movie Sixteen Candles for Ideas about what to write on.

More than anything else, your spelling and grammar are important. Some teachers tell you to just get the idea down, without worrying about the other, but this makes doing the job much more difficult in the end.

If you know what you want to write, then write. The best thing to do is do a quick first draft while the plot's fresh in your mind and then go back and edit and revise it later.

just start thinking about what you would like to write about...
like..you could write about something that happened or might be happening..
just kind of let your imagination flow...
you can fix spelling and grammer later..but how the story is and how interesting it might be to someone else..
I don't think it's silly..
it's a good idea

If you want to write, then do so. Also, keep a dictionary near by.
