I wanted to add that through the last few years I have been in two bad relationships, including the one I am in now. Lately I have been thinking I really hurt an ex of mine and he was so good to me. I just ran into him last night right as we both were walking out of walmart and found out that he is not married, not seeing anyone and living very well. I feel like god put me in relationships with men who didnt appreciate me to let me know how it feels. Now that I have learned my lesson, he wants my ex to pop back into my life?

i beleive that life is a series of choices, each choice leads you to a different fate or destiny, whatever you want to call it

Very possible. One must know the bad before they can appreciate the good. I went through the same thing in my relationship but it was with the same person. I learned so much. We caused each other a lot of pain but I now look at life in a completely different view and I believe some people can change. When you learn to live life with passion and cherish every moment...that will be when you become truly happy.

I definitely believe in fate, otherwise someone wouldn't have been fated to born in subsaharan africa and destined to die within days of their birth and someone else wouldn't have born into riches and lived life luxuriously off unearned wealth.

In ur case, i don't think u should get back to the person since, I believe, unkind acts can never really be forgotten and especially if u plan to get into a relationship with someone. They will always know that a darker side to u exists (even after U THINK u have changed) unless they are too innocent or too much in love with u to think that u r still a saint and i think most ppl get out of such innocence at some point in their life. Personally, I won't go back to someone I have ever hurt just because i think they would deserve someone much better and i would just like to be in a relationship with someone of my kind, no one better or worse, since i think likes get along. And there is no guarrantee u won't hurt them again and (MOST) human beings are just more prone to hurting the vulnerable.

Not in the manner you ask. I do believe we are on a type of life-path but we are not restricted from taking short breaks off this path. I call these breaks distractions. We shall all get to our proper end at some point in time, some will merely arrive sooner than others.

As to the story you told; only you know if you should reconnect or stay away - only you know your motivations and exactly what you bring/carry to the table. Please also know this, however, your choice affects more than just yourself.

No.
There's no evidence of any kind that indicates anything is "predestined." There are, of course, often inevitable consequences that are a direct result of actions (drive down the freeway at 95mph in the rain -- when you get in an accident, that's not fate, it's simply the consequences of your actions). But that's not "fate," just cause and effect :)

Yes. We cannot change our future only modify it, take easier or more difficult paths that lead us to our destination. If we are destined to have a good future- nothing will stop it. If we are destined to be buried alive- then no one can stop it. Our fate again is determined before we are born. It starts where we end up being born (i.e. Lifestyle/culture) which leads us to our fate and destiny.

I do believe in fate it is what is written on our souls for us, so that we will follow it for the duration of our lifetime, fate and karma are very similar, fate is what is already carved out for us, and has bearing on what type of life we have, or how we live.

No, at least not in what is generally meant by that. If you consider that actions have reactions or consequences then this could be considered a sort of fate, but other than that, no.

DETERMINISM look it up.

everything is matter... including you and your brain
matter reacts according to laws
you react accoring to laws
everything has to happen exactly the way it does.

so yes... i think there is such a thing... even down to where a given snowflake will fall 1000 years from now. even down to the thoughts and emotions you will feel later in life...

Yes. Everybody is predisposed to choose a certain path in life based on their heredity and learned (environmental) influences that have shaped their life so far, and of course the chains of events that led them to where they are now.

Do I believe in free will? No.

No don't believe in fate. I don't like the idea of someone else controling my destiny but me.
