Absolutely not! I love my children and would die for any of them but would never think of them with sex on my mind. Sex is an act of gratification that creates pleasure for a short time. Love is a feeling of the heart and mind that has absolutely nothing to do with sex. People say they are making love because they are engaging in a pleasurable act with the person for whom they feel love for. People in general don't always love the person they have sex with and they don't always have sex with the one they love. The bottom line is that no matter how you say it Sex is Sex. Love is so much more.

Love is NOT the same as sex. In our stupid shallow society the two are equated, which is why the phrase "making love" exists. Sex is about gratificaton, Love is about committment and sacrifice. Love is made, not by banging the nearest willing bangee, but by choice, by an act of will, the decision to stick with it even though things may get rough and there may be sacrifices to be made.
Sex can be an expression of this love, but in itself, it is simply the following of hormones and animal instinct.

They aren't the same.
Some people say that because they just want to get into the other person's pants, they don't actually know what it means or sometimes it actually is making love.

You can only make love to someone that you're in love with. It's not just about getting off.
You can have sex with anyone and walk away without a second thought.

Love is expression of feeling. Sex is the action. A sex can be made without love. Being raped is one done without love but could sometimes carried out in hatred. Something committed by the serial killers.

No, they are not the same. Sex is just a physical act. When you are having sex with someone that you love, it brings you closer together spiritually. That is making love.
