Depending on your age (and if you are studying, I am assuming you are between 14-23) studies have shown that the brain is most alert and active between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm.

However, each person is different and your ability to retain information may be contingent upon your desire to learn.

In the morning and evenings.

In the AM your brain has reset after a good night's sleep, and can readily process more information.

In the PM before you go to bed your brain may be slower, but you will process some of the information while you sleep. Giving your mind something to chew on while you sleep may not always work, especially if you are too tired.

It depends on the student. I study best in the afternoon and learn better in the morning. On the other hand I have a friend who is just the opposite (study better in the morning).

Evening time worked best for me, but i have to say i had good results coming from work i been doing during day time....meaning afternoon or late afternoon. Very productive.
But i have to admit its not about when you study but where and in what kind of conditions. It have to quiet, light, prefferably in your room where you are comfortable and focused, TV off, radio off......and you with no doubt will get very productive work done in a short period of time.

that depends if you are a night person or day person. What I would do was take a "power nap"....a nap of 30 mins to an hour and then i would wake up and study. That gave me the extra energy I needed.

For an exam the next day---right before you go to sleep, and again right after you wake up. It sticks in your mind that way.
Good luck :)

I believe it's one hour before your classes and the hour after your classes. If you are in the mindset of learning like in class, you will still be in that mode of focus if you do your homework/studywork right before or afterwards
