To think outside the box one has to understand what is in the box then what the box looks like. My box is full or becoming full of good things and soon it will overflow.

However one can have too much of a good thing if they don't understand the truth of why the "good thing" is good! It is simply "balance" people become consumed by "good things" don't they? And that becomes bad! So the fool will say "too much!" The intelligent person will say I have had enough chocolate and will leave the rest to enjoy another day!

I appreciate your answers!
May the light of your mind grow brighter still!

It seems too much of any good thing is in the end not a good thing. That comes from Epicurus's philosphy on how best to live life by way of being healthy and such. Think about it - too much food, even good food, will make you ill. Sun is a great source of vitamin D, but too much and at best you'll be burned, at worst you'll get cancer. Studies have shown how beneficial certain alcoholic beverages (i.e., beer, wine, etc.) are for various things yet too much too often and you risk cirrhosis among other things. Too much exuberance, excitement, etc. can lead a person to do stupid things without thinking. Even water - too much can kill you as a recent example out on the west coast has shown. At this time...I'm not sure there's any good thing which can't cause some sort of harm if you receive too much of it.

Good and bad are subjective to the perciever. So if you asked a junkie if there was such a thing as too much heroin, he might say no, i'll take all you got.
Anything, and I do mean anything, if done too excess, can be harmful. Too much water can kill you with water toxicity. Too much religion has caused the deaths of millions. Too much cake makes you fat. Too much love leads to smothering.
I say enjoy the thing you have in the moment you have it. Nothing to be added or taken away. Appreciate life for what it is.

I feel that one thing that could never be too much (of a good thing) would be Peace. By this I mean world peace, peace within yourself, between people...etc. Peace would end war, end anger and hatered and people would get along. What bad could come of this? People would still face death through illness, old age and accidents so it wouldn't change the natural life cycle. We would still have sadness and passion so we would still know pain. There would still be conflict but a resolution would come from speaking rather then killing. So I see no way that total peace could be too much of a good thing.

Well, too much sunshine and no rain would be too much of a good thing. Or too much snow.
