i've told council in writing i am on holiday.if they stick it to my door, will it be classed as served before i get back.the time scale is important to my arrangements for my next house.
i am on introductary tenancy,if i miss a 2 weekly payment for rent,
i breach my agreement.i claimed for housing benefit.the benefit dpt took 4 weeks to proccess the claim. i'm now technically in arrears, they are now trying to serve the order.
i had to go on holiday(in hiding)to try to dodge it for a while.
i think it all started because i made a complaint about a council official refusing to supply me with app for housing and tho local ombudsman overturned his decision.

Excuse me - you are expecting a court order and you are on holiday - are you completely irresponsible or what? You want to get your priorities right if you owe money you don't go on holiday.

Talk to the council, but going on holiday to dodge it wont make it go away, would it of been better to use they money you spent on getting away and giving it to the council for arrears? sorry i dont mean to sound like your mum! Untill the housing benefit is approved you still have to pay rent yourself. To serve notice they have to put it in your hand not stick it on your door! The council cant do anything along as you pay something, it may not be the whole rent amount but that is better than nothing and it shows you are trying than just not bothering

yes it will be classed as served it hapened to a woman i know where i live she went on hoilday to get away from it but when she came back the coucil had moved her belongings and boarded up the windows. benefits take along time to get processed and always leave tennants in arrears to which you have to pay off.even thou you claim benefit for housing. good luck with your new house!!

You might get their backs up telling them your going on holiday especially when you owe them rent, can you not phone them or go up there and explain "they know the d.s.s. drag their feet when it comes to paying out" or failing that could you not borrow the rent money from a Friend or family member? good luck with it anyway!!

the best thing to do is to contact them and come to an agreement we had that trouble and we got an order of possesion but we managed to come to an agreement and we are still living where we have been for two years.also they should have back dated your rent if you are claiming housing benefits.hiding is not going to solve the problem it will make it worse all the best
