in my sociology class this morning another student asked " why are humans the only form on this earth that can organize and express beliefs?" well my teacher and i fired back. yes we can conform, we have the tools and resources to. but how can you compare humans to animals? animals are soooo frikkin intelligant, curious, innocent, intuative, maternal, paternal= and thats alot more we can say about animals than some humans. it really ticked me off when he pretty much put animals at a lower lifeform than us. humans take away the ability for animals to conform and be natural-persay. humans think they have control over animals like animals are property to humans. maybe im just ranting but does anyone else agree with me?

"Humans are the dumbest animals,no mouse would create his own mousetrap."(ie nuclear bombs, guns, etc)
Animals have a different form of intelligence, just because they can't talk or reason doesn't mean they aren't smart.Show me a human who can predict Eartquakes and other natural disasters,we can't,but many dogs and other animals migrate before these things happen. And I definetly agree with you, that is why I'm vegan.Animals are just like humans, they need nourishment from their mothers and they just want to live.I think animal speak with their eyes, you can literally feel the life within them when you look into their eyes.I'm really fascinated by animals and I could never imagine killing one for food, only as a last resort, but even then I would feel bad.

Humans are animals too.
Humans are only more intelligent than other animals, this has nothing to do with the other qualities you mention (except curiosity, but humans are very curious as well, just as other more intelligent animals, like pigs). Humans are also very maternal and many also paternal, some species are more so than humans this has to do with their evolution. Take our closest cousins: chimpanzees, mothers are maternal, but the males aren't very much so. Our evolution has led us to be more or less monogamic, but not completely, like in swans, probably there was not enough time.
Also you call animals innocent, I think it is an empty phrase if they can't express their beliefs and tell you what they think. Is a cat innocent when it kills a bird? I think so, since the cat cannot reflect and think: Well, what am I doing to this bird, will it feel pain if I catch it? etc. etc.. So the cat can never be called "guilty" of something, even not so when it delibarately poops on the couch... yuck...
Just some thoughts :-)

Humans do have a higher intelligence than animals. That does not mean that animals are stupid. Animals have an entire different system to work with then we do.
For example dogs can't see well (or so they say) however their hearing is way better than ours, as well as their sense of smell.
All animal whether dog or human etc. is equiped with what it needs to survive in the world.

regularly mind length to body mass is a level of intelligence. even as no longer always the case, human beings with more effective brains do tend to be the more effective smart of the species. by using Nazi's obsession with coming up a draw close race & their tries to segregate communities of human beings into proper & undesirable communities, modern-day social sciences have prevented any attempt to degree intelligence. The "wiring structure" of the mind is something all of us understand little about in spite of the undeniable fact that evidently as if it really is more effective significant than actual length. some human beings having an frequent mind length look to have astonishing psychological skills even as others with more effective brains are lacking inner connections ensuing in a handicap. Genes do have something to do with psychological skills yet many inner mind connections are made interior the womb and in early adolescence.

Yes. But I think that animals are pretty intelligent too. Especially the way they have the instenct to do things arter they are born.

Humans are more intelligent that other animals, but I don't think that gives us the right to treat them however we like. (not an animal-rights activist, but in favor of animal welfare)

Animals have intelligence, but humans are more intelligent. They don't always use that gift to its best advantage, however.
