If we are causing Global warming, then why is the caps of ice melting on Mars now too? It has nothing to do with us, our sun is starting to put off more heat because it is burning out. Once its done it will blow up causing a chain reaction that will destroy everything in range of it. Global warming has nothing to do with us. Besides read the bible all this stuff was prophesied over 2000+ years ago.

My husband and I just watched a show last night (posted below) and it's really nothing that hasn't happened before. Our world is cycling, it's happened before. The only problem with it now is we have just accelerated it to move a bit faster.
The only reason I feel we are "hyper" about it is when/if the ice melts they say the oceans will rise 20ft. aprox. That will flood cities such as New York, Miami, etc. that built right on the edges of the country.
It took a hurricane to show Louisiana and the world that New Orleans and cities like it are just too close to the waters edge. I know we can't just pick up and move the cities but we should learn from it and STOP building so close to waters edge...duh comes to mind.
The program said we can slow it down by taking on certain responsibilities BUT, we can't stop what naturally is going to happen anyway. It will recede again, how long they couldn't say but there is proof (fossilized coral to high up inland proves it) that it's happened before.

As a matter of fact it seems that the media is the one that has caught your attention. When you actually look at the science, and past planetary trends, you will see that the earth goes through natural warming and cooling phases. There is no 100% guaranteed proof that man is the cause of global warming. I believe that global warming is being blown out of proportion. Hell, 5 years ago it was deforestation. What happened to that. It is the fad of the year.

Considering that's all we've heard about from the news this week i'd say they are. Friday the UN releases a major report on global climate change (global warming as a phrase kinda gets laughed at when you say "global warming" and Arizona is hit with record cold).

The media is concerned--the war is just top priority right now--has anyone ever thought that the war has a little something to do with Global warming? With all the pollution from weapons and all the destruction to our earth--it is a big imbalance.

I agree. This should be the one of the media's top priorities. Maybe more people will listen and become more aware of it then.
It is a huge problem and I honestly think that people don't want to take the time to do anything about it. They think that if they ignore the problem that it will go away or someone else can fix the problem.
It starts with our households, businesses, media, etc.
Seems like the average people are the only ones who care and want to do anything about it.

Depends where you are. Most countries take global warming very seriously. and their media reflect this. America is one of those who does not.

im not sure what to think on that whole issue. maybe because its not going to affect our generation. most people live in the 'now'. but when you think about the past, the world has been changing all the time. even when we werent here to screw it up.

I will tell you of a media mogul that does. I have heard him speak of it this week as a matter of fact. Bill O'Reilly. He strongly is aware of it and wants to do something about it.

I think its effect has not been dramatic enough yet for people to panic.
