My computer won't allow me to bring up secured sites (https://). What can I do? I tried adding it to my trusted sites, but still I am having issues. Anybody in the world got a resolution for this.
I am trying to check my work email from my home pc. I have the address correct. It is the freaking malfunctioning computer. OH, I would love to just kick it right now.
I am asking again because the other two answers did not work.
Please help....

You got a firewall that's blocking the https port?

The one thing that gets ya about https is that it uses a different TCP/IP port from http... so if you've got a locked down system then it's maybe blocking https.

http is port 80
https is port 443 usually

Does your work permit https through? i.e. can any of your colleagues do this? Cos if their firewall blocks it you have to get them to fix it.

I haven't read the other answers, but I would suggest going to Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Advanced tab:

Scroll down to 'Security' and put a check next to 'Use SSL 3.0'

Is this all secured sites? If not, are you sure the site you are going to has SSL running. Need more specifics to tell what the problem may be otherwise.

Try going to firefox or updating to IE7.

It is possible that maybe your work's network is designed to stop people from accessing things from the outside. You should check with the IT at your office and see if maybe work email is blocked from remote systems.
