In my opinion the number one disadvantage is that it can be used by bad people to do bad things, like deliberately crashing passenger airliners into big office buildings. All the problems of pollution, resource depletion and so on, are variations of people doing more or less bad things that they would not have done without the technology.

We are raising a buch of children that have no idea how to relate to others because all they do is sit in front of some kind of screen. They do not have to leave thier homes to be social, so no social skills are learned.
