I shake my fist at them! lol Actually I could care less. Sometimes when I'm typing my answer I'm thinking "oh boy I'm gonna get a lot of thumbs down for this! " but who cares, everyone's entitled to their opinion.

Pathetic. I answered a question about the Iraq war in relation to water being supplied to towns that never had running water before with complete facts and sources to back it up but I got thumbs down from people specifically because I might have been posting something positive about the Iraq war. I thought the thumbs up thumbs down was whether you were answering the question right or wrong, not whether or not we agree politically but I guess a lot of people don't see it that way.

I give "thumbs down"s on answers that are factually wrong, or do not answer the question.
I've seen many who give them for answers they just disagree with. I've also seen people give them for everyone who answers a stupid question.
I'm sure there are some who take offense to a particular answer and proceed to stalk that person, neg'ing every answer they give.
I really don't let it bother me. I attempt to answer questions with honest, thoughtout answers. A best answer almost always results in more points than the "thumbs down" people take away.

The "thumbs down persons" make no difference on the outcome of answers, it is ultimately the decision of the person who asked the question to decide which answer satisfies him or her. Many of my answers that had received "thumbs down" were chosen as the best answers. Don't worry therefore about the permanent "thumbs downers".

What good would "thumbs up" be if there wasn't a fair minded "thumbs down" option. Your opinions are apparently always right and never in doubt. OOPs! Guess I'm going to get a "thumbs down" on this one.

I don't really think about it however if i feel strongly about something the I use it as and when i think is necessary. It applies the same for thumbs up.
I wonder what prompted this question.

I think most of them are 8 year old boys. I think most of the senseless use of 4 letter words is 8-12 year old boys. The 10-14 year old girls give really bad advice to relationship questions. No idea why their parents aren't monitoring their Internet use.

At least it is a rating. I have yet to get a rating...but "no rating" is better than a "thumbs down" one.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion...including the "thumbs down" person.

That's what it's all about. Without different opinions wouldn't this be pointless? Unless it's a blunt yes or no question.

It is their decision. Not everybody is going to agree with my answers, and I know that. There are a vast amount of different users on here, and my rule of thumb is....you cannot please everyone.
