-once a week change the water 25%
-you need a heater. neon tetras are TROPICAL fish they need about 78 degree water
-you need a filter
-you need and airratior
-you need to feed them tropical fish food
-when you change the water you should add some "aquasafe" by "tetra" this removes all the chlorine chloramine and heavy metals from the water.

Yeah, get them a real tank.
No fish can be healthy in a bowl, and definitely not neon tetras.
Neons are very active fish. They like to school and they are active swimmers. I have a large school in my 100 gallon and they will use the whole thing - not that they need 100 gallons, but a 10 gallon tank would be the minimum size for them.
I'm sure you can find a 10 gallon tank with heater (neon tetras are tropical fish and need a water temp of about 77-78F) and filter for sale on craigslist.com or your local classifieds for maybe 20$-30$.

Also, stop feeding them goldfish food. Goldfish are omnivores and eat a lot of veggies; neons don't, so goldfish food lacks some of the protein and elements that the neons need. Get a quality community fish flake food instead.

You need a tank, a filter, a water heater, nutrafin cycle, a water chlorine treatment (nutrafin aqua plus) and tropical fish food, You need to set up your tank first with these things give the tank a double doses of nutrafin cycle to mature it quickly, you can get a quite a few of these little fish, although they do not have a great life span because they are prone to internal infections, When all this is set up and the fish are in You then would need to do a water change (25% with a syphon to clean the bottom) once a week or two when established and add your cycle every week as well to keep the bacteria levels correct, remember no untreated tap water this is the biggest killer of all as there is too many chemicals in our water for these Little fishes, This should ensure a healthy life for them,

For me the main relaxing great Bowl grew to become into great Bowl 38. probable the main underrated of all time. 32-29 on a final 2d container objective by using Vinatieri to conquer those feisty Panthers. i'm going to continually remember approximately this game. The eighty 5 backyard strike to Mushin Muhammad and the Panthers tying it up only to have John Kasay kick it out of bounds with a minute left to grant the Pats spectacular container positioning. large game. The worst grew to become into great Bowl grew to become into great Bowl 20 the place the Patriots could no longer do a ingredient against the Bears D and lost 40 six-10. yet another grew to become into great Bowl 37 Raiders vs Bucs

-You are changing too much water at one time, you should only change out 10-20% of the water.

- You need a filter

- You shouldn't feed them goldfish food, feed them tropical fish food, there IS a difference

- Your water is going to be the big problem, if this was fresh out of the tap without treatment, the first 30 days are going to be critical in the life of your fish. Look into the nitrogen cycle that your tank will go through. http://fins.actwin.com/mirror/begin-cycling.html

- neon tetra's aren't very hardy fish, they may die if you don't take action soon!

Hey, I have had guppies in a still tank for almost a year, with no filter, no heater, and nothing but a bowl basically. They are doing just fine. I would recommend you use tropical fish food. The heater and filter are not completely necessary though. Clean the water out completely every other week. If you have a lamp that gets hot easily, I would put it on beside the tank. This will help keep the water warm enough. They should be fine.

you should probably be saving pennies for a filtered aquarium for them. i would try feeding them some pellets instead of flakes. flakes can make the water messy. you can get tiny pellets from most pet stores. just feed them what they eat in 2 minutes twice a day. when you change the water do you use a gravel vacuum? it helps get the bad stuff off the bottom like poop and leftover food.

I would recommend switching to tropical flakes to help them get their full nutrition. Do you have a filter? Having a filter or some airation will help them stay healthy. Just keep an eye on them... if you catch diseases early and make sure they are active and colorful you will have some fish that will live a long life.
