Yes anyone can learn to play guitar. You just have to want to learn it. Ive been teaching people how to play guitar in the area where I live for 4 years. I just ask them what song do they want to learn and show them how to play that song. And plus I find playing guitar relazing after a stressful day.

When my son was in the eighth grade he decided he wanted to learn to play jazz music on the guitar. By the time he was a senior in high school he had earned the privlege to compete on the state level with his high school jazz band. Up to that point he had never had any kind of lessons, he was self taught. So I am sure if you try hard enough anyone can learn anything.

Yes. Well anyone with enough dedication. For most people it helps to have a teacher both for the encouragement/direction and to help through any technical issues. Some people have enough drive and talent to become fantastic players on their own but that is rare.

Has some good information. It's particularly good for people who have tried to play and are dedicated but get stuck at a fairly basic level.

Good luck.

yep, but it's not as easy as you would think it is. It's actually quite hard and takes dedication. You will NOT pick up a guitar and be ready for gigs in a week.

It is something that has great payoffs if you have the guts to stay with it.

Yes, and the length of fingers is completely irrelevant, contrary to what others said. Or the size of the hand. The only thing that matters is your talent and dedication. My favorite example is Steve Vai who practiced up to 10 hours a day, that's why he is impossibly good, among other reasons.

Yes of course anyone can. Maybe it will come more natural for others and be easier some to pick up on, but anyone can try and learn.

- If you want to play the guitar, you can learn
- If you want to play the bag pipes, you can learn
- If your mom want you to learn the piano, you can be taught, but you may not learn ...

It all depends on how much you want it
Will you keep practicing when you hit the pain barrier? ("Ouch, this thing hurts my finger tips and now I am loosing games on my X-Box") ... if you can get past that, no worries

(I think guitars are kewler than bag pipes ... lol)

anyone can "learn" to play, but you gotta "have it" to be really good! but strummin away on the ol' guit-box round the campfire is always a hit! so even if you wont be great still do it!

Yes, provided you have a sense of rhythm and a ear for music.

Anybody can learn, and anybody can be great, but for some it will definately be more work than others.
