Well, it's effortful, but there are two benefits if we display excellence in what we do. Well three benefits.

First, we establish a reputation as one who does that. People then regard us with respect which feels good.

Second, we ourselves feel as though we've done "good" today, and that is one of the two necessary ingredients for genuine happiness. (the other is love)

And third, whatever job we were doing will be done well and that is pleasing and useful.

To DO excellence and have it present in my everyday is important BUT to show this excellence to others is absolutely NOT important to me what so ever.

I strive for excellence. I do not strive for excellence so I can share it with others as in a from of bragging. My excellence is strictly for me and my family. I need no ones approval nor acceptance.

We have taught our son to strive for excellence as well and to keep it to himself. No one likes a bragger and being conceited is very unattractive. Excellence should be relished in personally and privately. A method that has worked well for us and life is damn good !!

: )

Happy Thursday !!
