I have HPV , but I have never had warts. I read that pregnancy can cause genitals warts to grow at a fast rate potentially causing the birth canal to be blocked or making urination difficult for the mother. Even if you never had warts will I still develop them during my pregnancy or is it only for those with certian types of HPV.

HPV is much more common than you think. It's just that nobody wants to talk about it because it is an STD. This is why you are now seeing more public service announcements about it and why girls as young as 13 are now being vaccinated for it.

You should not worry about getting warts while pregnant. Just make sure your OB knows you have the virus in case something should occur. I think what you are reading is if women have warts and let them go without getting treatment. If you are getting regular prenatal care, then you have nothing to worry about.

there are about 80 different kinds of HPV. Not all of them are the genital warts kind. Most women have HpV of the cervix. Some cases of HPV even clear up on their own. Most likely if you did not have warts before than you don't have that kind of HPV. certain kinds of HPV can cause cancer of the cervix and these are not usually the kind that causes warts. I had a colposcopy done while i was pregnant and everything was fine( there was nothing wrong) after they said i may have had HPV

20 million Americans have HPV and most don't even know it. 5.5 million more get it each year. You may never get the warts and if you do, they are easily removed.

If they do grow and are a hinderance, they can always do a C-section. I am not sure about the urination problem, it is a good question for your ob during one of your checkups.

it will likely not effect your pregnancy. IF you tell your doctor about it and they take the steps to keep the watchful eye on it. It didnt effect my pregnancies at all other than worrying about it.
