Comment regarding Sen. Barack Obama.

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man."

What do you think is he a Racist, Undercover Racist or really just a bad choice of words?

Honestly I think it was just a bad choice of words but all over NYC radio i'm hearing them calling him a racist or "Under cover racist". Then i though maybe i'm wrong with my first impression of it. And i really want to know what others thought.. Hope that explains my question more

I think Senator Biden cannot stand to look at a black man unless he's doing his best to look like a white man.

In this day and age, it shocks me that any thinking person let's something like that come out of his mouth. There was nothing undercover about it and it wasn't just a bad choice of words. He essentially said that any African-American up until Obama came on the scene was unsavory and didn't look clean enough to pass a white man's inspection... and that includes Jullian Bonds, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Alan Keyes, Colin Powell and many other prominent African-Americans who have done so much for this country.

And for the record, this is coming from a white Liberal Democrat...

I heavily isn't stunned no count if it incredibly is Biden. he's a logical selection. he will upload an "adventure" ingredient to the value ticket that Obama desparately desires. despite if, if he finally ends up on the value ticket, it is going to look to many those that it would be Biden on the precise and Obama as vice chairman. Biden makes Obama look like he nonetheless desires a pacifier.

Undercover Racist? that is the closest statement that i have read thus far which describes" UNDERCOVER WORKINGS". thank you for the glimmer. Sometimes the magnifying ear goes just a tad too deep to an area we may not be entitled to even consider. to take as an offense when it has not surfaced in an action. but i do thank all the players for this one revelation while in the public light. thank you again. try to have a nice day.

Just a rrrrrrreeeeeaaaalllllllyyyyyyy stupid choice of words. However, the interesting thing to watch is how the Left responds to his words, as compared to how they would respond if ANYBODY on the Right had said them....like oh say, Trent Lott, for instance.

I don't see anything in those words that are negative. How is it you read racism in it? Sen. Biden is a very high profile person, and to assume he's a racist because you read things into his words, kind of makes your intelligence a little suspect.

Every time I see Joe Biden or hear him speak, I think to myself: "How sad it is when cousins marry". This bumbling left wing extremist fool wants to run the country? He's barely started, and is already scrambling around in damage control mode. And he and his ilk think Bush is a dummy! Go figure.

The operative words are "first mainstream." In other words. Other black candidaites who are so described were not mainstream. It is simple.
If a person can get the whole race in a tizzy over one word, it is hopeless.

Just as stupid as his comment about Indians working at mini-markets. But his comment all in all was just unfounded. Colin Powell (for example) has been around for quite sometime and although he wasn't running for office, he certainly was "Bright, Articulate and, Nice-looking."

Racist? No
Undercover-Racist? Who knows.
Bad Choice of Words? Most definitely.

Why does everything always have to be put under a microscope, forget about it and move on.
