yesterday i was in my french lesson at college. i have two teachers for the lesson of french. yesterday the younger of the two (39 years old) came in and they began speaking in very rapid french which i could not quite understand. however, i managed to gather that the older teacher was congratulating her about something and the younger one was saying she needed someone to cover her lesson on friday like she was going out to somewhere out of school. i do not know what this means?? could she be going for promotion at another school, is she pregnant and going for a scan?? what do you think???

I think she said to the older teacher that on Friday, she is going to pretend to be your mum, calls chool telling you have to come home. Then, she will hunt you down, kitnap you and make passionate love to you because actually she is gay.

You were eavesdropping- very impolite. However it is sometimes hard not to overhear another person's conversation.
If you cannot contain your curiosity, go to the younger teacher, explain that you unintentionally overheard part of the conversation. Then simply ask your question. But don't be surprised if she says that it is none of your business- because it is not.

I'm sure you're not trying to be nosey. Perhaps you are just worried about your education. If the teacher left on maternity leave or for another school it would scupper your education. Don't let all these synical people be horrible!

She probably got offered another better job and does not know if she has it yet for certain, and has to go for interview to clinch it.
So obviously does not want anyone to know if she is leaving until sure of her circumstance. Her Bosses might not take kindly to her if she lets them know before certain of her future and they might chuck her out in spite. It is none of youre Business, Restez Vous

Maybe she has changed her religious and should go to mosque on Fridays so another teacher has to cover her!

they are your teachers and they are entitled to have a private conversation. if they had wanted you to know what they were talking about they would have spoken in English.

I would worry more about your studies and less about gossip
