Yes, you actually have until April 15 (16th this year since 15th falls on a Sunday) to contribute for 2006. So there is plenty of time to talk to your tax adviser to find out if you made a contribution for 2006, would it help your tax return.

No you have until 4/16 to make the deposit, so you can actually claim it on your tax return and file now. Just make sure you get the money in the account prior to the 16th of April.
