Even if she is involved in a graphic rape scene that has nothing to do with the movie? IF so, then why?

I will not watch it. I can't believe parents would allow a child to be put in that position. I know it's just acting, but that's a terrible crime and nudity is unnecessary for a child. It has also been said that it has nothing to do with the rest of the movie. They don't mention it again. They don't get her any help. She doesn't even tell anyone. Thankfully, a 12-year old being raped is not an every day occurance, so this child shouldn't have been subjected to pervs who will enjoy the scene.

How can a rape scene have nothing to do with the movie? Obviously it does since the scene didn't end up on the cutting room floor. Also, the media is hyping it up. In the film "Eye For An Eye," there was a brutal rape scene envolving a little girl and Keifer Sutherland and I don't remember the media jumping on it.

I would probably see it but cover my eyes and ears when that scene came about. I hear it's really disturbing.

I will see it, the rape scene does have something to do with the movie which is based on a novel. The rape happened in the nivel why should the movie omit it? It isn't graphic from what has been said but people are gonig crazy anyway. What I don't understand is WHY? As much as people don't want to accept it stuff like this happens to young girsl EVERYDAY, it's cold hard reality, we should get used to it and applaud a movie that isn't trying to fluff it up!

Absolutely! The media is indeed blowing the "rape scene" out of proportion. Not only does it appear to be a great "movie," the subject matter is important to address. If this movie helps even one young girl or boy to understand what has happened to them and work to get through it, then it has not only been a "movie" but also a blessing!
